Charge out rates and salary levels 2009

Welcome to the 2010 DBA Charge Out Rates and Salary Levels Report.

This survey, conducted in conjunction with Kingston Smith W1, allows you to compare your salaries and fees with those of your peers. It is an invaluable business tool when planning your strategy for the coming year and assessing your performance over the past year.

The report focuses on in depth analysis of staff salary levels and their charge out rates. Not only are you able to study averages across the DBA membership, but you can also hone in on an area or size of business.

The report also covers trends in utilisation rates, staff benefits, pensions, freelancers and training budgets thereby allowing DBA members to gauge how they operate compared to others of comparable size, location or discipline.

The survey is a fair reflection of what is happening at the top end of the design sector. 38% of the respondents in the DBA survey have a turnover of more than £1m while recent research conducted by the Design Council* showed that 11% of the design industry turns over more than £1m a year.

To gain access to the report findings and searchable tables you need to be a DBA member. Each DBA member company has their own login details and these have been sent to our main contact within each company.
